2009 Recital Dance Note - May 2, 2009

May Tuition-$38.00 is due by Thursday May 7th . Any Tuition received after May 7th will be $43.00
All Fees need to be paid in Full for the year by Thursday May 7th to dance in the Recital. May’s tuition covers the 8 hours we will meet in May. For the classes, Rehearsal, Recital and party.

Dance Video Party- (attend one) Wednesday May 13th 2:30-3:45pm or Wednesday May 13h or Thursday May 14th 4:00-5:15pm You may bring a pillow to sit on, Water bottle-(no juice bottle on the floor please) and a treat to share- if you would like, this can be any food that is not too messy. You will pick up your pictures this day. Please note the parties are on Wednesday and Thursday so the pictures can be back from the lab... (No Video classes on Tuesday.) Please carpool and drive slowly since there will be a lot of girls coming and going.
Drop off and Pick up time will go 15 minutes both ways so we can stager the cars on the street.

Dress Rehearsal/and Pictures- Saturday May 9th-(9:00am-Noon) Canyon View Jr. High. This is the school 1 block east of my house. Come dressed in your first costume. Not your pre show costume.
The girls need to be there with a Mom for the entire Dress Rehearsal and then we will be able to practice the Finale together for the first time. Tuesday 2:30pm Class and Wednesday 5:00pm class please be there ready to go on stage at 9:00 am and 9:05am remember we can’t wait for late dancers to keep Rehearsal and Pictures running as smoothly as possible. Picture time is just an estimated time. All other classes need to be lined up in the hall ready to go on 2 numbers before hand. You may have your single picture taken while you are waiting but please let the photographer take the dancers who need to be on stage the soonest. Please have your daughters there for the whole Dress Rehearsal. After attending Dance Recitals Competitions and Nationals with my daughter I have realized that the girls do so much better if they can watch the other dancers perform and can see how their stage presence and smiles are so important. So please stay for the entire 3 hours/ We will practice the Finale and the Pre Show for the first time after the dances too. Thanks

Pictures- at the Dress Rehearsal this will be the only time to order and pay for the pictures- Wear a little makeup so they are not washed out, more for the show. Hair should be pulled up in a half ponytail at the crown of the head. This should help the head band keep from sliding back if they are wearing one and keep the hair out of their eyes. Bring your picture envelop, they will have extras there too. If you want a ballet group and individual picture of your dancer and a jazz group and individual that would be 2 separate packages. All checks are made out to Cory Adams- They do a wonderful job. You can see their work in the studio hanging on the wall. Please do not take pictures of the groups or individuals while they have them set up. There was a problem with this last year and they have asked that no cameras or videos be in the area- this is how they make there money, and they have went to a lot of work to set up. Please be there at 3:30pm. So we can go over the Finale and the Pre show.
Please don’t come rushed. Rushed girls make for unhappy sad dancers.
Recital helpers- if you have a daughter or friend who would like to help with the Recital please let me know and have her meet in the dressing room to help with a class. She would help the girls change from one costume to the other and make sure their first costume is put in their bag. Please check the bags before you leave for home. Also helpers will stay with that class and get them lined up for their second dance and Finale. I need the Class moms to inform the girls what to do for the Recital during that 3:30-4:20pm time.

On sale in the studio-Limited amounts- New Ballet Slippers$17.50-$19.50, Shimmery White Tights- $8.00 Children’s… $10.00 adult sizes and Costumes left over from this year and years past that are discounted. $2.00-up Also Princess Costumes will be on sale. These are great gifts and fun dress ups. All ordered costumes can be picked up the week of the parties.

Please make sure all costume and headbands are in your bag- ironed and neat. Labeled with their name. All sash headbands need to be bobby pinned on- this is for the following dances-Only time- Twist and shout-Little bitty Pretty one- Bounce-and Locomotion.

*** Tuesday and Wednesday 4:00pm and 5:00pm classes- you will need to come to the Recital in your Black Long sleeved Leotard and own levis Capri’s or rolled up levis, and tennis shoes. Wear a bright colored belt or sash around your waist. Come in your first costume to the Dress Rehearsal. Since we wont take time to change but just practice the dance in your last costume.
This week Tuesday and Wed 5:00 wear your Capri’s and bring your 2nd costume to put over the top.
TUESDAY 2:30 -WEDNESDAY 2:30 -AND THURSDAY 10:00 CLASS WILL WEAR THEIR 1ST COSTUME FOR THEIR PRE SHOW DANCE.
****Wednesday 4:00pm class- please bring your Scooter to class and to the
Dress rehearsal and Recital- Or you can leave them there. But it may be safer to bring them back. Wednesday 2:30pm class- Dads or Grandpa’s we will have a practice with you and your girls at 4:15pm sharp for their dance WISHING AND HOPING. . Please be up on the stage at 4:13pm- MEN -Please wear a white shirt, tie and dark pants. After the girls 2nd leap walk to the back of the stage and pick up the rose laying on the floor. (Miss Kristin will direct you when it is time to come on.) You will be standing in two lines on the side and walk up to one line across the back of the stage. Your daughter or granddaughter will come back to you and you can turn her or swing her or dance with her. Lean over at the end and let her kiss you. And then you walk off hand in hand off the stage- You’re her Prince. Thanks Men. Practice at 4:15pm don’t worry you can’t mess this up. The girls love this.

THESE WILL NEED TO BE ROTATED FOR EACH DANCE AND MAY NEED TO BE BROUGHT TO THE STAGE SO THEY CAN BE USED FOR PICTURES FOR EACH OF THESE CLASSES

Thanks for all you do for your wonderful daughters, they are all so great. I am so proud of each of them this year, how they have grown and gained such confidence in their dancing and in themselves. Just a reminder May Tuition $38.00 needs to be paid by this Thursday May 7th to dance in the Recital May 9th.

I just received news- That a Professional DVD Guy will be recording and put together a Recital DVD and Year long Picture slide show for this years Dance.
The Recital will be professionally recorded. You can just sit back and enjoy watching it. They will take out the back ground noise and add special effects. I have taken fun pictures of the Dancers during the year at class time, dancing and having fun together with their friends. There will be a slide show of all the dancers put to music. Each child will be spotlighted. It will be wonderful. Reserve your copy now. Price is $12.00 for each DVD. This is really is a great deal.
* Extras can be ordered for grandparents and family. They would love it!
